Who I Am

Dr. Maya Beasley is a social scientist who applies research methods to organizational and institutional challenges. Rather than relying on generic frameworks or assumptions, she uses systematic research to understand each organization’s specific situation and designs solutions based on evidence.

With a Ph.D. from Stanford and undergraduate degree from Harvard, Maya has published academic research and consulted with nonprofits, corporations, and research institutions on hiring systems, technology adoption, and strategic planning. Her work emphasizes implementation – helping teams execute changes, not just recommending them.

Before consulting full-time, Maya served as a tenured professor, conducting research on organizational behavior, decision-making, institutional effectiveness, and conflict resolution. She brings that same analytical rigor to practical consulting work.

What Makes Our Approach Different

Research Training Applied to Real Problems

My Stanford Ph.D. and my team’s research expertise mean we know how to design rigorous research, analyze data properly, and avoid the sloppy thinking that plagues most consulting. But I’m not doing this for academic journals – I’m solving your actual problems.

We Diagnose Before Prescribing

We don’t show up with pre-packaged solutions. Before recommending anything, we understand your specific situation – what’s actually broken and why. How deep we go depends on what you need and your timeline. We base our recommendations on your reality, not borrowed frameworks.

Bias Detection Expertise

We specialize in finding hidden biases in systems – hiring processes that screen out great candidates, evaluation systems that favor certain personalities, algorithms that perpetuate historical patterns. Making systems fair also makes them more effective.

Honest About What We Don't Know

We won’t pretend to be experts in areas we’re not. If your question is outside our expertise, we’ll tell you. If we can help, we’ll explain exactly how and why our approach makes sense for your situation.

Focus on What Actually Works

We care about results, not looking impressive. If a simple solution works better than a complex one, that’s what we’ll recommend. If your current process just needs tweaking instead of complete redesign, we’ll tell you that too.
